Rob Bell podcast & Tom Wright

Thanks to Karen, I am now listening to a verse by verse podcast sermon on Phillipians by Rob Bell, the narrator of the Nooma videos. Check out ‘God’s Ipod’ for a selection of some common sermon podcasts. The Rob Bell one is from Mars Hill Church – there’s also a podcast by Ravi Zacharias which sounds very interesting. If you have the itunes software and an mp3 player (preferably an ipod), you can just click on the relevant link. The podcast will then appear in your itunes software (on the computer) and it will be regularly updated from the internet. Interestingly, Rob Bell includes a study guide as a pdf file which you can print out and annotate as you listen to the podcast.
I noticed that he does refer quite a bit to slides, which are not available with his podcast. In one of his sermons he refers extensively to a graffiti artist Banksy. Its well worth a look at the website.
I’ve been reading a lot of Tom Wright’s work recently – in today’s podcast sermon, Rob Bell recommends his work, particularly his accessible commentaries ‘Everyone’s guide to Paul: the Prison letters (including Phillipians)’. More of Wright in my next post.
